Maharashtra's Hidden Green Jewel

Radhanagri Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Dajipur Sanctuary, is a peaceful and scenic forest area located in the Sahyadri hills of Maharashtra. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1958 and is home to many rare animals and birds.

The most famous animal found here is the Indian Bison, also called the Gaur. Apart from this, you can also find leopards, barking deer, sloth bears, wild boars, and more than 260 species of birds.

During the blooming season, the Karvy flower blossoms once every seven years and turns the forest into a purple wonderland. It’s a magical sight and is believed to bring good luck.

The sanctuary also has rivers like Bhogavati and Dudhganga flowing through it. One of the highlights is the Radhanagri Dam, which was built by Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

Visitors can enjoy jungle safaris, trekking, bird watching, and exploring the peaceful nature trails. If you are looking for a quiet break in nature, Radhanagri Wildlife Sanctuary is the perfect destination.
